The naming game

A few people have asked about the origin of our sweet girl's name. We both like more traditional or "classic" names and since Ellie has an older name (Eleanor), we wanted something similar for the new baby. We actually hadn't decided on her name though until she was born. We had a list of three names that we knew we liked - one of which was my favorite (Beatrice), one of which was Lori's favorite (Alexandra), and then Audrey. When she was born, I knew right away that she wasn't a Beatrice; it just didn't fit her. She looked like Audrey right away to me. I was in the recovery room after my C-section for a couple of hours while we waited for a room to open up in the post-partum unit and that was where we officially decided on her first name. As for her middle name, Lorraine is Lori's full name. We had actually planned to use a different middle name, but giving her Lori's name was something that was important to me. Now we're just adjusting to her actually having a name and not calling her "baby sister"!

Here are a few more pictures from the hospital and our first day home...

It is always fun to hear the story behind the name so thanks for sharing!

Loved the pics. What a precious little girl! Can't wait to meet her in person!

Hope you are doing well and able to get some sleep here and there!

Isn't she beautiful? I think her name suits her. Maybe she will grow up to be a beautiful and talented humanitarian like Audrey Hepburn. She is well on her way in the beauty department for sure. Love the picture with big sister.
