We had a very fun day at the beach yesterday! We met up with a few friends and spent the day relaxing in the sun. Ellie was terrified of the ocean although we couldn't blame her because the crashing waves were so loud. But she enjoyed playing in the sand with her friends. What she really didn't like though was the sand all over her little body! There are lots of pictures and a few videos below from our day.
Ellie getting ready for the drive to the beach. She was so excited that she fell asleep within 10 minutes :-) We were happy that she got in a little rest because we knew it would be a long day without a real nap.

"I have been here for less than an hour and I already have sand in my diaper."

We didn't know beforehand but there was a big boat race yesterday afternoon so we got to watch that from our front row seats.

After several hours on the beach we all needed a cool treat!
An exhausted Ellie falls asleep within minutes of getting in the car. She was so tired! When we got home, we took her straight to the tub to clean off all that sand. She cried the whole time and said "night night". We felt terrible! She perked up after watching Elmo though and we had a good night.
Much fun was had by all and we're even planning on doing it again this weekend!

Hey! The videos and pics are really cute! Did ellie ever get sand in her eyes in the "throw the sand in the air" trick? I am jealous of your East Coast beach! The water is so much colder here in CA :(
Can't wait to see you!

seening your pictures remine me of the times we use to go to the beach in SD...come home, bath and spend days getting all the sand out of the house!!! more fun.....then off again the next week-end...more bathing...more sand!!
She looks as though she had a really great time. She learns from the "big" kids. Soon she'll be building sand castles.
